TypeScript end-to-end in 2026
Patterns for sharing types across server and client safely.

End-to-end type safety used to be a niche luxury. In 2026 it is table stakes for new projects.
tRPC, Hono RPC and typed REST clients (orpc, ts-rest) all work well. Pick one and commit.
Validate at the boundary with Zod or Valibot. Never trust unparsed JSON.
Keep the shared type package small and stable. Types should describe contracts, not implementation.
